The Puppy

Scott has a soft heart for animals just like me! Last Wednesday, he walked threw the door holding this sweet girl. She was extremely thin, had sores all over her body, and had a string tied around her neck really tight. The sting was yarn tied like you would a friendship bracelet making a thick string. We cut the string off her neck and Breanna gave her a bath first thing. Then she got a small bowl of food. I had forgotten how cute puppies are when they eat. It was a long night. The puppy slept with Christian while our two dogs slept with Scott and I. Usually they sleep in the living room. Skeeter whined all night. He wanted to play with the puppy. Daisy wanted nothing to do with the puppy as was not happy at all that her daddy was holding someone else. I guess the puppy kept Christian awake some. Thursday we tried to find her a home fast knowing we couldn't keep her. (As Scott said, a owner who treats their pet like that shouldn't be given the chance to get them back. We did try to get ahold of the radio stations and looked in the lost and found section of the newspaper with no luck.) We just don't have alot of room for a puppy that was going to turn into a really large dog. We called the Humane Society just to find out the only way they take dogs is after they have been to the pound. Scott reluctantly called the pound to find out the procedure. We found out they would keep her for 10 days to see if a owner came forward. At that point they will see if the Humane Society will take her. If not they couldn't say what would happen. So on the 10th day we will be calling to see if owners came forward or if she made it to the Humane Society. If neither of those happened we will probably adopt her. She was way too sweet to let anything bad happen to her. I figure that this will be one of many rescues that will come through our house. Breanna and Christian have tender hearts as well. . . She was just so cute we all wanted to keep her.

Busy, Crazy Times

We have alot of things going on over the next few months. For starters, we will get the kids back on Wednesday for 9 weeks. So exciting. They may not think so but I enjoy it alot. As soon as we get our final estimates, we are having our roof fixed. WOOHOO!! We will be packing up our bedroom as it will be nothing but walls. We are taking everything off the roof so we can see sky. This is to make sure there is no mold etc from all the leaks. We will probably have to sleep on the pull out couch for a couple of days but will be so worth it. As it is now, I cover my desk with a towel to make sure it doesn't get wet. Our hope is to extend the wall by the carport out about 5 feet I think Scott said to make a large closet. I won't have a laundry room closet full of lint any more!!! Hopefully all works out and we have enough money to do what we would like. And saving the best for last, Scott won a all inclusive trip to Cancun through work. I can't believe it, this will be a trip of a life time. Here is where we will be going in May.

Oh, and I forgot Scott will be going on his first Bigfoot expedition at the end of May.

Valentine's Day

When I was feeling better, Scott planned a very romantic Valentine's Day which is so not like him. I had a really bad painful day the Friday before Valentine's day. Who knew would get so sick right before a holiday and I had no idea he was planning anything. He even arranged to have his mom come let our dogs out. Anyway, He took me to a the Raddison Hotel. The Valentine's Day package included a one night stay, a champagne toast with chocolate covered strawberries for two, and dinner in the restaurant. Scott had a steak which he said was one of the best he had had in a while and I had chicken with mango salsa. It was so wonderful. Too bad I wasn't feeling well and went to bed not long after supper. The room had a sleep number bed so I did get a good nights sleep.
