WOOHOO 4-Wheelers

Scott's dad gave him two four wheelers. The larger one ran but the smaller one we had to have a little work done on it. Christian is so excited about them. He could hardly do anything else this weekend. The man who owns the land beside us said that the kids could build trails so Christian and Breanna worked on that Sunday afternoon.
Of course, we had to shop EBAY for a cool new helmet.

Trevor's Birthday

We had a small birthday get together for Trevor. It's hard to believe how old they are. They grow up so fast. You expect them to have photo's like this when they are little not when they are 12.
It's was hard to tell whose birthday it was. I think Justin is checking out what he can borrow which is exactly what my sister would have done to me.

The boys had also made a redneck football. This is the inside of a football. Wrapped with a little tape and of course the Nike Check makes it way cool.

Monkey Munch

The Monkey Munch that I made for both the Easter dinners that I went to was a huge success. I know my Nephew Justin needs this recipe the most as I think he ate the whole bag that I took to my Aunt Pats. This can also be found on the Chex web site under the name Muddy Buddies.

MONKEY MUNCH

Ingredients:
9 cups Chex® cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
1.Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2.In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3.Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

I just realized that I left the Vanilla out so I guess that can be optional.

Toxic

Well as most people know I am trying to use more items in our home that are healthier for us. I have found this really neat website which tells which brands of different household items are less toxic. I don't know that I will ever be able to switch from all my not so good habits but I least I will be aware. Check out his website: http://www.lesstoxicguide.ca/index.asp

Rain Rain Go Away

Everything and I do mean everything is flooded in town. There are many roads closed. There are businesses that had to move their trucks because the lot was under water. The recycling place is completely under water. There are a lot of houses that have water in their basements. I tried to take some photos of Krooked Creek . They didn't turn out so good. It's hard to take photos from a car window with rain blowing in. As you can tell the walking paths are completely under water.
This much water will make my job really crazy. I hope this all ends soon. It has rained non stop since yesterday.

Birthdays. .

Well I think I am officially an adult. Once the twenties are over there is no turning back. Scott got me a really nice big camera bag which I so needed. I can now sport all my stuff and even have room for more. When it is someone's birthday at our house you get to choose what is for supper. On Scott's we had steak and green beans complete with bacon grease. For my birthday, I cooked Chicken Alfredo with huge chunks of broccoli and lots of garlic which tasted great. It's not quite right to cook your own birthday dinner but I like cooking done my way. Christian wouldn't taste it because of the broccoli. The ladies at work made spaghetti for lunch and chocolate cake for my birthday. It all tasted so good. They also went together and got me a gift card to Maurice's. I can't wait to go shopping. My mom also stopped by with some new clothes and visited for a little while. Even though we had to study for nine weeks tests that night, I still had a good birthday. Now, I'm old. . . .

Sad Weekend. . .

When Scott took the kids to school on Friday; they will be starting the 9 weeks with their mom. Our house seams so quiet all ready. The time has just flown by. It's always sad and lonely when our time is over. We will get them next weekend so we will have to try and plan something fun and I will have to get the stuff to make their favorite dinner (Mexican Chicken).

Sweet. . .

Kids are always sweeter when they are sleeping. Even when they have four legs. Daisy tried her hardest to get Skeeter to play with her but he wanted to take a nap on the fuzzy blanket. She left him lots of toys just in case he changed his mind. She finally gave in and took a nap also.
Yes, she does her best sleeping with a pillow.

FIRE

On February 26th we went out to go to the gym and found that we could not get out of our lane that the Fire department had the roads blocked. The little blue house at the end of our lane was on fire. It appears that the fire was contained to the front of the house as the mini blind in the kitchen does not look damaged. It's kind of strange. The people who own the house was not home at the time of the fire. They were there the next day and looked like they were having a party in the back yard as normal and we haven't seen them since. The main reason I took photos was to see if their is some kind of law or city ordinance where they will have to clean this up with in a certain time frame or the city will have to step in. The photo below shows how the yard has looked for several months now. It started with a load of trash bags in the back of a pickup truck. Then it rained. They then unloaded the truck several days later. Then a week or so after that they opened up all the bags and threw stuff all over the yard.
I hate for anyone to loose their home or their stuff but I really wish this eye sore was gone.

Different Drug Problem. . . . .

I got this in a email this past week and it is so true. This is exactly how I was raised. I just had to share it. . . .
