Pop's Day

Last weekend we had a special Pop's Day for my Grandpa Vernon. You see he is my mom's step dad who never had any children of his own other than a Dog named George. He took on 6 kids. Of course, between the troubles 6 kids and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren he deserved this very special party. He had a blast at the surprise party. . .
There was a few people missing from the picture but I think there was somewhere around 40 or 45 people.

There was tons of food. I think there is 60 hot dogs in this pan. (My grandpa's favorite food.)

Pool Party

Libbie turned 6 this past week and has always wanted to go to the city pool but her parents never wanted to go with what seems like 500 other kids. They rented the pool the evening of her birthday for a surprise and everyone had a blast! I think there was somewhere around 50 people there enjoying the swim. One happy birthday girl!
Libbie was so funny. She went through the blue slide and got caught up at the bottom. She then went through the red slide and went really fast. All I got on the camera was feet and a splash. I thought it would scare her but instead she went around 3 more times before moving on to something else at the pool.

The boys. . . Christian, Trevor and Tiger

My Aunt Pat (Libbie's Grandma) jumped off the diving board!

Trevor's jump looked a little painful!
My cousin Lee (Libbie's Dad)

My cousin JT. I think the bigger boys were seeing who could do the coolest tricks off the diving board. I missed alot of them but they looked awesome.
I think Brandon (Libbie's older brother) won with the tricks. He did forwards and backwards flips with twists and all kinds of funky stuff. They had a name for this crazy dive but I can't remember what it was.

This was a fun night for all age groups! The water was cold as we had rain the day before.

Gatorade Stand Update

Well the Gatorade stand made the Newspaper with the title Old-Fashioned Fund-Raiser. Of course we were told that the sign only read PLEASE DONATE GOING TO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL for a short time and only one person bought gatorade after it said that. However, in the photo it clearly reads that. . . .
PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING TO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL!!

Gatorade Anyone?

Well our first two weeks with the kids will be ending this Friday. We have had fun even though Breanna and Christian haven't been home much. Breanna left for a road trip with her grandma this week. Christian was gone to his cousins Tiger's house some last week and part of this week. They begged Tiger's mom to let him stay a few days with us this week. My nephew Trevor got to stay over one night with them also. . .

Now for the funny part. .

The boys decided to have a Gatorade stand. They were competing with the girls Lemonade stand to see who made the most money. They did really well and made $10.35. I never made that much at a lemonade stand in my life. Anyway, Scott got to looking at the sign they had made and you will never guess what it said. . . . . PROCEEDS GO TO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. I had to laugh and giggle about it for a while before I could discuss it and be serious about it. I mean where on earth do they come up with this stuff. Scamming for money and lying and cheating to get money is not acceptable. And to top it all off the newspaper came out and took a photo of them for the paper. They said the sign didn't read that all day but still. . . Well they decided to have another stand today they right way with correct signs and Christian and Tiger both made $4.75 each.

We're Gonna Do IT!

Scott and I have decided we are gonna do IT! WE are getting married August 29th at A New Beginning in Christ. Check out their site http://www.anbicweddings.com/weddingphotos.html. It is expensive to rent the whole grounds for a day. So, we are renting the Gazebo area for 3 hours. We are wanting to keep it really simple anyway so we don't need use of everything they offer. We are both very excited. We have spent the last week searching for wedding music. It has been a chore and we are still undecided on lots of things. I was so excited when I got my wedding box out of storage this weekend. I have had stored for the last 2 years (yes Scott has been waiting a long time. . .) I still love everything I bought which means I did really good my taste changes so often. There are clearance tickets on everything which makes it that much better. I love the wedding book I have. At the time our Hallmark was going out of business and I went back every week for several weeks. I bought it when it got down to the last one at like 60% off. I just couldn't let myself pay $40 for it when I really wanted it. I can't wait til a little closer when I have everything else like clothing for everyone. It is going to be a very special day for us and I hope everyone can come. Kim will be taking our engagement photos soon :). But until I get some great new photos of us. . .Here is the latest one taken of us on Memorial Day.
