We have been so fortunate this year. Not only were we given a lot of fresh vegetables this year, we have now been given a large amount of cooking apples.
I looked on the net for a good fried apple pie recipe but none of them seamed to be close the my grandmother's recipe. I can't remember all the details of hers and she never followed a recipe exact. I combined two recipes and this is what I came up with.
They were good but not as good as my grandma's was. Wish I would have paid more attention when I was younger. She was a great baker.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do with the rest of them. I still have a huge bag full that I need to do something with. Can you freeze apples for later use?
